Privacy Policy

Emerge Labs, Inc. built Our Plan to help households coordinate when conditions change. Location and contacts are sensitive, so we keep what we collect to what the app needs to work, and we don’t sell it or use it for advertising. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email and name to create your account.
- Your plan. The plan, places, household members, and contacts (names, phone numbers, email addresses) you add.
- Location. When you send a check-in, your location, so the people you send it to know where you are. If you turn on “Share where you are with your household” in Settings, your location after you move about a mile, so your household can see where you last were. For each, you choose Neighborhood (the default: we round it to about half a mile before it leaves your phone, and again on our servers) or Exact. You control this in the app and in iOS Settings.
- Contacts you pick. If you choose someone from your device’s contacts, we store only the details you select. We don’t upload your whole address book.
- Notifications. A push token so we can send you check-ins and reminders.
- Membership. Purchase and subscription status, so we know your household’s Membership is active. Apple processes the payment; we don’t receive your card details.
- Diagnostics. Basic, non-identifying app-event and error information to keep the app working.
How we use it
- To run the app: build and sync your plan across your devices and household.
- To deliver check-ins and messages to the contacts you choose, by text and email.
- To surface public safety information — weather, wildfire, earthquake, and air-quality — near your saved places, from authoritative federal sources.
- To confirm your Membership and provide support.
- To keep the service secure and working.
Who sees your location. Check-ins go to the household members and contacts you send them to. Where you last were is shown only to your household, never to outside contacts or on the shared plan link. Unless you choose Exact, both are rounded to your neighborhood, and your household sees a circle around the area, not a point.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the app, and only for that purpose:
- Twilio — to send check-in and message texts.
- Resend — to send check-in and message emails.
- Supabase — database and authentication that store your plan and account.
- Vercel — hosting for our servers.
- RevenueCat and Apple — to process and verify your Membership.
- Google Maps / Places — to search places and show maps.
- Expo — to deliver push notifications to your device, including their text.
- Cloudflare — to store the offline street map for the area around your household’s homes.
- Public safety sources (such as the National Weather Service, USGS, AirNow, NIFC, and NOAA) — to look up conditions near your places.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people’s safety.
The people you reach
When you send a check-in, your chosen contacts receive a message that may include your household’s plan and your approximate location. Please add contacts only when you have their permission to reach them this way.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account from the app (Settings → Account), which removes your plan, places, and contacts from our systems, except anything we must keep for legal or security reasons. You can also reach us at Support to ask about your information or request deletion.
Your choices
- Turn location permission on or off in iOS Settings; turn “Share where you are with your household” on or off, and choose Neighborhood or Exact, in the app.
- Turn notifications on or off in iOS Settings.
- Manage or cancel your Membership in your Apple ID settings.
- Delete your account at any time.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.
Children
Our Plan isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.
Changes
We may update this policy. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
